BEAUTIFUL DAYS

Although today has not been the best day of my life, as it included
getting drenched waiting for the college bus in the rain as it was super mega late,
doing a Biology test and messing up my Biology practical exam because
I am scientifically impaired,  it also involved singing along to the radio
in my best friend's car after we decided to use another mode of transport,
drying our hair under the hand dryer in the college toilets and the sun has
finally come out.

So right now, if I look out the window, all I can see are gorgeous
bright blue skies, lush green plants in my garden and a big beaming sunshine.
Top that off with the nutella pancakes I had for lunch and what seemed to be
a bad day has now done a u turn, and it is so very beautiful :)

So to celebrate that, I found these photos of beautiful days for you to enjoy
and I made them super large and everything, because you know, it's a good day and
all that.

HELLO VALENTINES DAY

As you're probably more than aware, tomorrow is
Valentines Day, and as is always the case with me,
I don't have a Valentine.

My Nan & Grandad took pity on me this year and
sent me an 'anonymous' card in the post (LOL LOL
LOL LOL) and bought me chocolates to make
me feel better (which I can't stop eating).

I have to say, from my first ever experience of receiving
an 'anonymous' card, I ruddy hate it because I don't
like not knowing who sent it me.
Does my absolute NUT in.

As soon as I opened my card I was straight on the phone
to my Nan & Grandad, interrogating them for five minutes
straight until they finally gave in and admitted it
was them.

Of course I then said they could do better aka. give me
more chocolates next time plz.

But back to the matter, this year is the first
year EVER where nearly all my friends have boyfriends and
whatevs', and they're all getting cooked for or taken
out and getting more chocolates than me & all that jazz.

I of course am single as always, but today I've
been thinking things through and realised that I haven't
really met anyone who 'floats my boat' yet, or basically
I like/ love enough to want him to be my boyfriend.
And I'm actually strangely excited, once again, at the
thought of being a single lady (ooh er).

And as for Valentines Day, well I can't say it
matters that much to me any more. It's a cute idea but
me being me, I always expected some guy to come out of
the shadows and proclaim his love for me on that one
specific day every year, and that we would live happily
ever after, which of course never ever ever EVER
happened.

So this year, I'm spending the day with one of my lovely
single friends and weirdly enough, one of my friends who
is in a relationship, and who was moaning to me last year
about being single still (bless her), because she 'didn't
want to be left out' and 'miss out on all the fun' (hah)

I think we're going to go mini golf in Nottingham
or stay in and watch movies and eat chocolates and
be like 'woo hoo, single lyf 4 da win'.
Either way, it's a vast improvement on last year
when I got locked inside a toilet in Spain and
had to be rescued by a hunky Spanish man in front
of my entire Spanish class plus some Spanish people
too ;)

Happy Valentines Day to you all!

NEVER FORGET, REMEMBRANCE DAY 2013

Today is the 11th of November 2013,
Remembrance Day,
and I just wanted to do a little post to
pay my respects to all the
soldiers past and present who give up and risk
their lives to save ours.

I forgot to wear my poppy today,
like the idiot I am, but I drew one on my hand
and wrote 'Never Forget', because I think that phrase
is so strong and beautiful.

I think it's wonderful how we still have our
two minute silence every year,
almost 100 years on from the first World War.
I like how we continue to pay our respects to those who have
died for us, fought for us, risked their lives for us,
although I do think we should stop to remember
these brave people more often.

To all those who died for us during the two
World Wars, I thank you for freeing our nation, for protecting
our nation, for bravely standing up to our enemies,
ensuring that all future generations grow up in a world free of
fighting and war and oppression.
Thank you for risking and giving your lives for us, and
to all those back home who could only stand
by and watch, thank you for your strength and courage.

And to all those who died in the succeeding wars,
and to all those fighting now,
and who have done over the last ten years, I thank you
for your courage, strength, bravery and decision
to risk your lives every day to protect us all, your dedication to fighting for what is right.
It's easy to forget that whilst you're sat at home watching TV,
or in college or school in lesson, that someone
is out there fighting for you and risking their life
for you on a almost hourly basis.

Yesterday I saw an interview on TV with a woman
who lost her husband whilst he was on tour in Afghanistan.
He was the 415th soldier to die for the UK
since the war began, and I found it so hard to
watch her talk about it, because I can't even begin
to imagine the pain she has gone through,
and her strength for allowing her husband to
go out and live his dream,do the job he loved, despite her
fear that he may never return.

I admire anyone who has a loved one who is
out on the front line now or who has been on the front line.
I admire anyone who has been brave enough to risk their lives
for our country, past present or future.
I admire anyone who fought and returned home
severely injured and traumatized, but manages to overcome
their obstacles and live their lives to the full.
They are incredibly inspiring.

Words cannot express how thankful I am,
how thankful we all are,
and it's hard to find the right words to say,
words that do these brave people justice,
but once a year, we join together
and pay our respects, united as one.
And although we may be united in silence,
it's a silence that speaks a thousand words.

ELAINE PAIGE'S LAUGH APPRECIATION DAY

Oh My God...

So I was literally on the cusp
of beginning a new post, which I shall post after
this, when I heard something
warbling out on the radio waves
 My Dad has left
Radio 2 on, and Elaine Paige is presenting,
and ughhhh,
if you haven't heard her laugh before

I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO.

Because my god,
that really is one hell of a laugh,
and it's so good, in my opinion,
that I decided I would dedicate,
not only a blog
post to it, but an appreciation day.

I know it sounds crazy, but listen to this...

and come join me in
celebrating EP'S CRAZY ASS LAUGH!!!
