OSCAR FASHION THROUGH THE YEARS

London agency Mediarun Digital has created this cute illustration of every dress worn by the Best Actress Academy Award winner

I thought this little series of illustrations by London design agency 'Mediarun Digital'
featuring all the dresses ever won by winners of the Best Actress Award at the Oscars
was so cute! So I just thought I'd share it with you.

BLACK AND WHITE QUOTES

As always seems to happen, yesterday
I had a crazy few hours doing a few new designs for my
Bluboca store, but unlike always seems to happen, this was succeeded by a big blow out at a Chinese buffet restaurant
in town with some of my college friends.

Fun times made all the more funner by eating
the most beautiful roast potatoes I have ever had the
privilege of eating in my whole entire life.
And they weren't even Chinese.

But anyhow, my new collection is 'Quotes' and if you like
any of these designs above, that's where you can find them!
And if you have any suggestions for quotes you would like to
see, please drop me a comment below :)

Hope you're all having a fab weekend!

STAY STRONG/ BE POSITIVE/ KEEP FIGHTING

Today I went off on one and created
about ten new designs for my Bluboca store
and I decided to create them in the theme
of positive thinking because I think it's rather important.

I want to remind people of the simple little things
that are the key to living a happy life, such as loving
yourselfstaying strong, choosing to live your life,
thinking positively, having hope and a smile on your
face.

I for one needed to remind myself of these things,
because I forget just as much as anyone else, and in
order for me to remain happy, these are the little
things that are going to help both me & hopefully you too.

They're also dedicated to one of my best friends
who suffers from depression and who hasn't been dealt
the best hand in life yet she still carries on
fighting, no matter how hard things get for her.

Her strength is incredible, even though she
doesn't realise it, and I admire her so much.
And these are both a little reminder to her to
stay positive and keep on fighting, but also
a dedication to a truly wonderful person who deserves
only the best in life.

:)

If you like any of these designs head to

HAIM-A-HOLIC

Sometimes I get these moments where I just
really wish I was a member of Haim. Or that my sister would
let me make a band with her so we can be like Haim too.

We both have long hair and she can sing like
Whitney and Beyonce and Gloria Gaynor when she wants to
and I can play the guitar so y'know, it's plausible.

Of course Derby, UK isn't as glamorous or jealousy inducing
as California, USA but it doesn't matter where you come
from, or at least not that much.

If you aren't familiar with Haim by now,
please get yourself on You Tube and look up their music
because it's just awesome and they are awesome
and so cool and fashionable.
Or, you could buy their incredible début 'Days are Gone
if that's what floats your boat.

Haim, as you may have guessed already, are
a trio of sisters -Alana, Este and Danielle- who hail
from California and all their family are so musically gifted
that they formed a family band and played gigs together!
How cool! The only thing my family is gifted at is singing
the Sound Of Music soundtrack together, word for word,
harmony for harmony....
Somehow it doesn't quite compare.

In a few months time they'll be heading here to
the UK for their first headline tour and if you follow
this link you can go grab yourself a pair of tickets and
make me super duper jealous because I haven't
bought any yet.

It kicks off at Rock City, Nottingham (the gig
nearest me) on the 4th of March so click like the wind
on the link below my lovelies
'CLICK FOREST CLICK'

I love Haim because they're a kick ass
girl group who the music industry has taken seriously.
They all play instruments, they can all sing, they all dress
achingly cool, they all stand for female
empowerment and that 'don't bullsh*t me' attitude.
Heck, Este's twitter name is Jizzy McGuire for pete's sake!

So whenever I'm in need of a girl-power-boost, eg. when one guy
thought I was incapable of using powerpoint (b*tch
please I've been using it since I was eight) I whack out
my ipod and put on a Haim track and all is right in the world.

So yeah, to conclude, I'm a self confessed Haim-a-holic and
if we all use this term enough we might be able
to get it into the Oxford Dictionary.
BOO YAH.

OODLES OF DOODLES

So you may or may not know that
I have my own art and design business!

(well if you have eyes and you're quite perceptive
you'll notice the ad to the right of this blog...)
;)

And my art and design business is called

I said I'd tell you about it sometime,
and I guess I kind of am today, but I'm just writing
about it a but today because I've spent
so much time this weekend doing
drawings for my redbubble store!

And I thought you might want to see some of them...

So number one is the fabulous

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN

Unfortunately I can't sell this design on my store
due to copyright claims or something silly like that- I mean,
how can you copyright a person.
I DON'T KNOW.
But I slaved away at this so I thought it should
get a chance to say hi somewhere.
So here's Brucey!
Aka. THE BOSS

-if you like this drawing and you wanted a copy,
I can sort something out for you!

Number two is my favourite model,

CARA DELEVINGNE

I love this girl, she's so funny and down to earth.
I kind of want to be her best friend.
Even though she's a top class, mega famous model,
and everyone practically licks the ground she walks across,
she doesn't take herself to seriously and I like that.
ALL HAIL QUEEN DELEVINGNE!

You can get this design at...

If you have a suggestion for another model
you'd like me to draw for you, please comment on this post!

Next is the utterly gorgeous and sublime

JOHNNY DEPP

This man is phwoaaaarrrrrr.
If I was the same age as him.... man we would be
married and making gorgeous little Depp babies and and and....
Okay, back to reality, aside from his looks, I swear
he's one of the best actors EVER; the way he gets into character
and seemingly undergoes metamorphosis to become these people
is crazy and I love him.
He's awesome.

You can purchase Mr Depp at

Number four is one of my favourite couples,

SERGE GAINSBOURG AND JANE BIRKIN

I think these two were divinely sweet and their
love was so random yet beautiful.
In my opinion they're the most perfect trans-channel couple
EVER EVER EVER.
She's an English model, he's a French musician,
they both were superstars in the glamorous sixties and seventies.
Need I say more?!

If you love them as much as I do, take a look at...

The final drawing I did this weekend was
of a beautiful

Spanish Senorita.

I made her up all in my mind and I might do some more
drawings of girls with flowers in their hair like this. You may
remember me saying I'm a 1/4 Spanish and this is
kind of like a tribute to my Spanish roots.
Also, this shade of my pink is my favourite shade of pink,
just in case you like, wanted to know...

AN HOUR WITH YOU...

I just drew this little
cutie on my graphics tablet,
and I wanted to share it with you, my lovely
readers, wherever you may be.

It's inspired by a certain someone, yes,
however their identity shall
remain a secret for now.

But if you've read some of my earlier posts,
you might be able to guess who...

And for me, the person I like to
spend my hours with is someone who makes
me laugh, who I can talk
to about anything and everything,
who I am 100% myself with,
and who makes my life
just a little bit brighter than it
ever was before.

I never know just what we will talk about,
or what will happen when
we are brought together
we can talk about anything from
our dreams, our likes, our favourites.
And we never seem to stop.

And I know that when I walk away I
am smiling, and I am happy, and when I am with
this person, I feel exactly the same.

I crave their company,
I look forward to seeing this person,
I look forward to hearing just what tales they have to
say, I like being near them,
close to them.

I wouldn't say I'm in love with this person,
but I feel myself falling just
a little bit each time I am with them, and one day
in the future I will look at this person
and realise I have fallen in love with everything
they are and everything they are not
without even realising it.

But then again, if fate has other plans,
and we just simply remain friends, I will also be happy
because having this person somewhere in my life
 is all that matters.

You can't buy that connection,
it's either there or it's not, and whether it be friendship
or loveyou must never let it go.

THE RAVISHING ERIC RAVILIOUS

As I was being a right good girl
and doing some research for my art coursework,
courtesy of my art teacher's
recommendations, I found this guy.

ERIC RAVILIOUS.

Sadly he is no longer with us,
but whilst he was, he made some gorgeous pieces
of work, and these three I've
included on this post are just a little sample.

I adore his style, his use of colour, slightly
reminiscent of Raymond Briggs who created The Snowman and
the way his work almost reminds me of Christmas Eve
night.

And I just wanted to share a couple of
his pieces with you (:

G'WAN ERIC.
